A serious car accident nearly took my life. I broke multiple bones and I could barely move. I completely lost my independence. When I first came to Beth Abraham Center, I was nervous and afraid. But the nurses made me feel welcome and always had a smile on their faces. They explained which medications I was going to take, much like the therapists explained the process of my healing. The activities kept me entertained, and the dietician made sure I was eating food I liked. Best of all: My family was very pleased with the team that contributed to my improvement. Recovery was not easy, but Beth Abe Center had a fantastic team who were there for me during the 250 days of my stay. It has been a journey, and I am very glad I came to this center.

One of my favorite things about Beth Abraham Center was the actual facility. I have been to other nursing homes and Beth Abraham Center is, by far, the nicest. The therapy gym was equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, making my experience that much better. Another aspect of the facility that I enjoyed during my stay was the outdoor patio. The large open space of the patio was beneficial for me as I would go out daily to get fresh air and stretch my legs.

I have been a resident here at Beth Abraham Center for over 10 years and the one thing I can say about this community is that we are truly a family. I have met many amazing staff members throughout my years, people who genuinely care and support the residents. During holidays and birthdays, we host parties for each other and experience everything a real family otherwise would. The unwavering love and support of the staff is the reason why I am so happy here at Beth Abraham Center.

My friends used to call me Speedy, because I was always on the move. You can see why having my leg amputated was a terrible blow—physically and emotionally. But the team at Beth Abraham center came to my rescue. Literally. I don’t give the rehab staff 5 stars. I give them 10 stars. They are very kind and caring and professional. I was a health care provider for 25 years, and I know what I’m talking about: They are the best! Beth Abraham Center started me off on my journey to better health—and for them as well as me, it is mission. I will always be grateful to them. My friends can still call me speed—because that’s what my recovery has been!    

Due to complications from COVID-19, I was admitted to Bronx Lebanon Hospital. I was experiencing shortness of breath and knew that I needed immediate medical treatment. My condition soon took a turn for the worse. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, I was intubated. The medical team saw improvement in my lung capacity and extubated six days later. When I woke up, I felt extremely weak, unable to speak, and motionless. The hospital informed me that my road to recovery would require aggressive, short-term rehabilitation. I chose Beth Abraham Center and couldn’t be happier. Since the very first day, the nurses have been attentive, the food has been delicious, and the therapy has been life-changing. I am regaining my independence and would recommend Beth Abraham Center to anyone needing rehab.

My stay at Beth Abraham Center has been absolutely fabulous; the staff has been very helpful thus far and have provided a high-quality service. The rehabilitation at Beth Abraham Center is amazing, they are very pleasant, thorough and always have my best interest at heart. Thanks to them, I truly feel my body becoming stronger by the day. My health had deteriorated dramatically. I was almost completely helpless. My doctor said I should go into a rehab facility, but the truth is, I thought I would never recover. I could never be independent again. The Beth Abraham Center team showed me just how wrong I was. The moment I was admitted, the medical staff went to work, designing a plan to improve my health—physically and emotionally. The therapists, social workers, nutritionists and activities team all played important roles in my rehab. What impressed me was how encouraging they all were. They believed I would get better, and their optimism rubbed off on me. And they were right. I’m walking and moving again—90% better and I know now it’s just a matter of time before I’m 100% myself. I am delighted here at Beth Abraham Center. The staff is understanding and is always willing to help. Our daily activities are fun, inclusive, and well-designed. I have enjoyed our paint classes and bowling simulations. The therapy gym in Beth Abraham Center motivates me each and every day. My therapists are amazing, caring, and understanding on how I am feeling during my exercises. Here, everyone cares about my progress, well-being, and overall health.

I’ve led an active life, but time took its toll. Arthritis ravaged my knees. The cartilage had worn away, and both knees were literally bone-on-bone. I was in agony. My doctors recommended Simultaneous Bilateral Knee Replacement. After the surgery, I had to learn how to walk properly again. To that end, I checked into Beth Abraham Center in October, 2019. Three months have passed, and the results are amazing. Beth Abraham has been wonderfully accommodating, the environment clean and safe—the facility has been beautifully renovated—and the staff is very, very professional. I can’t say enough about the Physical Therapists: they are exemplary. I believe Divine Intervention brought me to Beth Abraham, but it was the team here that got me back on my feet and stronger than ever. I’m so grateful. If 5 stars is the top rating, Beth Abraham deserves a 7!

I like to be in Beth Abraham Center because the staff are very loving, caring, and nice; they treat me like family. Especially the recreation department. The Recreation Department always has lots of activities like bingo, birthday parties, and birthday celebrations. Because of this it makes staying at Beth Abraham Center very comfortable for me. This is my home.
